Who is someone you admire and why?
I’ve always admired Eleanor Roosevelt! When her husband, Franklin D. Roosevelt, took Presidential office in 1933, Eleanor dramatically changed the role of the first lady. Eleanor gave press conferences and spoke out for human rights, children's causes, and women's issues, working on behalf of the League of Women Voters. Eleanor also focused on helping the country's poor, stood against racial discrimination and, during World War II, traveled abroad to visit U.S. troops.
What are some social causes you care about?
Some causes I care about are animal welfare, education, civil rights and social action, and human rights.
If there was a soundtrack of your life with just one song, album, or artist, what would it be?
The soundtrack to my life would be written and performed by Future Islands.
The best piece of advice I've ever received is:
“Make the day, don’t let the day make you!” The difference between having a bad day and having a good day is a choice. We can’t always control the things that come into our lives, but we can control how we react to them.
If we held an office talent show, you would wow everyone by:
My ability to remember and recall random pop culture trivia! Ask me who the most recent person to achieve EGOT status was.
What inspires you most about your job?
I’m inspired by working with a group of amazing women who find innovative solutions to help people every day.
What is your favorite way to spend a day out of the office?
I would take advantage of my day out of the office by spending some time outdoors! Morning coffee in the park, a long walk, taking my son to the playground, or going for a hike!
