Who is someone you admire and why?
I have always deeply admired Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Her tireless commitment and dedication to fighting for a more just future has been a source of much inspiration for me, both personally and as I’ve navigated my education and career path. Her legacy is one of perseverance, advocacy, and justice, and one I can only hope to emulate in my own life.
What are some causes you care about?
Creating communities that are accepting and inclusive of those of us who are neurodivergent, ensuring that schools are safe and supportive learning environments for all students, and advocating against systemic injustices.
If there was a soundtrack of your life with just one song, album, or artist, what or who would it be?
I'd have to say the song would be 'Island in the Sun' by Weezer - it's been one of my favorite songs for as long as I can remember, and I think it caputres my personality pretty well!
The best piece of advice you've ever received is:
To “dance through it.” I have always loved to dance; I find dancing to be an expression of our most vulnerable, authentic, and creative selves. Reminding myself to carry that posture in the midst of challenges encourages me to keep moving, keep creating joy, and to keep feeling and being and doing – whatever that might look like in the moment.
If we held an office talent show, you would wow everyone by:
Performing my second grade talent show dance routine to the song ‘Car Wash’ by Christina Aguilera from the film masterpiece ‘Shark Tale’ – not to blow the surprise, but it does involve the classic ‘Sprinkler’ move.
What inspires you most about your job?
Our community – from our clients to our colleagues and my coworkers, I am surrounded by so many wonderful people who do such incredible work to serve one another. It’s such a joy and an honor to be involved in shaping our community into the beautiful, supportive, and thriving thing it is.
What is your favorite way to spend a day out of the office?
Being active outdoors, spending time with my loved ones, and reading!
